Founded in 1944, Taniwharau Rugby League Club is one of the most successful Premier Rugby League Clubs in the Waikato. Throughout their history they have won numerous Waikato Premiership titles. They have also produced several accomplished Rugby League players, including Wairangi Koopu and Lance Hohaia who have represented New Zealand, and more recently Mya Hill-Moana a promising young player who has made waves in the NRLW (National Rugby League Women’s) competition, being a Premiership winner with the Sydney Roosters and representing Māori All Stars and the New Zealand Ferns at just 20 years of age.

It is of huge importance for us to give something back to our local Huntly community, it helps us send a positive message about our commitment to bring people together, and promote healthy, active lifestyles.
